Tim Hofman was born in Washington D.C. - one of
nine children - and has played the piano for 35
years. Classically trained under Roger Priese of
the National Symphony in Washington DC, Tim has
performed all over the United States and toured
in 24 countries. After spending his formative
years in California, Tim returned to the east
coast in the early 1990's to make his home Ocean
City, Maryland, where his six brothers also
reside.
Tim Hofman has produced and released 15 CDs - 3
of which contain all original scores. Tim's
COCKTAIL PIANO music is a series of piano
recordings dedicated to that special type of
piano music you might associate with elegant
lounges high atop the skyscrapers of New York or
with an intimate night club somewhere along the
Left Bank in Paris. It is quiet, sophisticated
music, drawing from schools of jazz and
classical, elegantly blending the styles into a
feast for the senses. It features the great
standards of the 1930s and 1940s from such gifted
writers as George Gershwin, Harold Arlen, Duke
Ellington, Rodgers & Hart, and many others. This
music is for relaxing and dining and makes a
welcome companion in your car. It is music to end
your day with and for quiet times on the weekend.
Since making Ocean City his home in 1994, Tim has
been invited to perform in many of the resort's
largest and most prestigious hotels. While his
live performances encompass all genres of music,
Tim's favorites draw from the varying styles of
Classical, Jazz and Rock music. Some of his
favorite artists are Oscar Peterson, Frederic
Chopin, Keith Emerson, Art Tatum, and film
composer John Williams, and many more.
